Grib configuration was created by Einberger
Is it possible, to configure the 3 grib-slots differently?  I want to have windmap as Background and wind/temperature as main/second arrow in slot 1 and rain as background and windwaves/swellwaves as main/second arrow in slot 2 for example. But if I try to configure slot2, the changes will automatically appear in slot1 as well. Is that a bug or a feature? And if this is intentionally, what is the reason for having 3 slots (beside comparing data from different sources?)
Best regards and thanks for your ansewers
Thomas

It is not currently possible but we are thinking of something around that idea. Might be linked to grib download profiles.

Ah, OK, thank you very much for that really quick answer. I was confused, because at the top of the grip-configuration page you can choose between viewing grip1-3 and all. I did not understand, why you can choose a certain grip-view, but if you make changes, it always affects all of them...
Sorry for that misunderstanding,

Hi Einberger,
I 'd like to jump in ...here is my 2 cents then :
There are 2 main methods using the slot selector (3 green arrow icon in the toolbar) that is actually a shortcut to the top section of the grib configuration window :
- The first method is to select the grib you want to display . First green arrow is highlighted then grib in slot 1 displays, and so on untill the third green arrow. That's pretty straight forward.
- The second method is to define the grib environment you route in. Let say you have an Arpege grib in slot1, a Arome grib in slot2 and a GFS grib in slot3. You clic on the green arrow icon in the toolbar and the first green arrow is highlighted, then you launch your routing. You freeze the route you just created to encapsulate the grib environment into the route itself. Then you clic on the slot selector to activate the slot 2 and repeat the same process, the same for slot3. At the end you 'll get 3 distinct routes corresponding to 3 different wind models, Not to mention you can eventually load these 3 routes in the route comparator to evaluate the 3 models (for one same path) according to the params you decided to go with in the comparator.
But you are correct, there is no specific slot grib profile YET, but it looks like it is coming soon :)
Hope this clarifies a bit more on the purpose of using the slot selector switch...
