un complement d'info :=16pxckrebs16/11/2022 01:40
Not sure what the initial weather conditions were, but qtvlm and bitsailor use different algorithms in light rotating winds that get weaker over time; bitsailor actually uses the same or a similar algorithm as realsail for interpolation and is therefore the better predictor under these conditions - @Hardtack or @BooBill can specify further.

On the LA - Dutch Harbour, the victory came from the first day at the start, those who followed the route announced by bitsailor won, those like me who followed QTVLM could not make up for the delay of the first day due to a bad management by QTVLM of the light winds.

 1. The forecasts store wind data not as speed and direction but as U and V (horizontal and vertical) components. Two consequtive forecasts are used to interpolate in time: 1. Interpolate the 2x four grid points enclosing the boat position component-wise using linear interpolation to obtain four interpolated points at the target time. 2. From these four points compute U and V components at current position using bilinear interpolation. 3. Compute wind direction from the above components using cartesian to polar transformation 4. Compute wind speeds at the four points from step 1) using euclidean norm 5. Compute wind speed from the four speeds using bilinear interpolation. =0.625rem(modifié)
 2.
