Skip waypoints was created by CristiNeagu
Hello,

If the boat passes a route waypoint while qtVlm is turned off, so that it receives no telemetry of it passing that waypoint, even though the ship is still on route qtVlm will want the ship to turn around to reach the waypoint, then come back down the route.

1. How can I tell qtVlm to skip that waypoint and route me to the next one? Best i can figure out, i either have to delete the waypoint or optimize/simplify the route, which doesn't always work and messes up the rest of the route.
2. Shouldn't there be a check to determine if a ship passed a waypoint?

I feel like the option to skip waypoints along a route should exist in general regardless if the ship passed the waypoint or not.

Thank you.

Hello,
A WP is considered "passed" when the boat enter a circle around it (radius of this circle can be defined for each POI). If the route is active then qtVlm automatically switches to next POI on the route, and remove this one.
If qtVlm was switched off there is no way to know that this condition was fulfilled, since even the track is not recorded. Only solution is to remove the POI(s) manually from the route. In order not to mess with sending active POI to autopilot when qtVlm resumes, I would suggest to deactivate the route and deactivate active WP before turning qtVlm off, to avoid sending wrong WP position at startup if NMEA is set to start automatically.
Regards
Philippe

Thank you for the response.

Are there any plans to implement such a feature? It would also be useful if the skipper wants to head to the next waypoint on a route voluntarily.

There is a route option (general or for a specific route) that says:
"Remove all POIs before active WP"
So if this options is checked, you can set whatever POI on the route as new active WP (right-click->set as WP), and all POIs before will be removed from the route.
