i have also deleted the documents folder but this made no difference

Any third party antivirus activated? Google Play Protect is ON maybe?

No anti virus activated. Have switched google play protect scanning off.
Have also tried moving QtVlm to SD card
still get same error

Actually the storage location does not appear to have changed from internal to external
